I England lancerede
Technicolor omkring 1956 et nyt filmsystem, der i lighed med VistaVision kørte horisontalt
igenem kamera og kinomaskine.
Systemet blev kaldt for Technirama, og var i sin grundform det samme som
VistaVision. Imidlertid havde Technirama en anamorphotisk linse (en slags
CinemaScope linse) foran grundobjektivet. Det betød at man kunne optage film
med en bred billedvinkel og nedkopiere dette til regular 35mm film.

Technirama have en fætter der blev kaldt for "Super Technirama 70" - alting
var "Super" i 1960erne. Technocolor tilbød kunderne at forstørre
Tecnhiramanegativet til 70mm film, og lægge 6-kanal magnet lyd på.
Odeon
Leicester Sq. biografen i London fik installeret Gaumont Kalee maskiner til Technirama.
Technirama forsvandt i slutningen af 1960erne. Walt Disney Pictures anvendte
Technirama en sidste gang i 1985, til "The Black Cauldron".

had its premiere in January 1962 on the newly build french ocean
liner FRANCE during the first passage from Le Havre to New York. The
FRANCE had a cinema on board with a capacity of 664 seats, 2 x DP70
and a 16mm projector, five front sound speakers and 14 effect
speakers. The screen was 10 meter width. |
